WARNING
The legal voters of the Town of Enosburgh, Vermont, are hereby warned and notified to meet in the Enosburgh Middle/High School Auditorium on Dickinson Ave., in Enosburg Falls, Vermont on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10:00 o’clock A.M. to transact the following business, viz:
ARTICLE 2, 3 & 4 will be voted on by Australian Ballot at the Enosburgh Middle/High School Auditoriums on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 between the hours of 10:00 o’clock in the forenoon and 7:00 o’clock in the afternoon, at which time the polls will close.
ARTICLE 1. To receive and act on the reports of the Town Officers.
ARTICLE 2. To elect the following Town Officers:
Moderator for one year One Auditor for three years
One Selectman for two years One Library Trustee for five years
One Selectman for three years One Town Agent for one year
Two Grand Jurors for one year One Lister for two years
One Lister for one year One Lister for three years
Collector of Delinquent Taxes for one year
Three members of the Town Forest Committee for one year
ARTICLE 3. To see if the voters will approve the purchase of a 1992 Spartan/Smeal 75’ Ladder/Pumper Truck
Total purchase price of $185,000.00. ($50,000.00 down payment will be coming from Replacement
Fund). Financing will be on $135,000.00.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the voters will authorize the selectboard to enter into a purchase and sales agreement and to also approve necessary purchasing funds for the purpose of acquiring the adjoining property located next to
The Town Office building on Main St. This agreement is contingent upon seller approval of any offer made by the select board not to exceed the publicly listed asking price of $169,900.00.
ARTICLE 5. To see if the voters will authorize an additional $50,000.00 expense for resurfacing.
ARTICLE 6. To see if the voters will authorize the use of a voter tabulating machine.
ARTICLE 7. To see if the voters will appropriate the following sums of money:
a. $n style='mso-spacerun:yes'> 500.00 to the American Legion Post #42
b. $ 1,000.00 to the Enosburg Falls Town Band
size=2 face="Times New Roman">c. $ 13890.00 to the Enosburgh Library
d. $ 1,000.00 to the Enosburgh Conservation Committee
e. $ 1,000.00 to the Enosburgh Town Planning Commission
f. $ 1,000.00 to the Enosburgh Food Shelf
ARTICLE 8. To see if the voters will appropriate the following sums of money:
a. $ 2,500.00 to Champlain Valley Agency on Aging
b. $ 1,000.00 to Club Respite, Inc
c $ 350.00 to the TriCounty Foster Grandparent Program
d. $ 500.00 to Franklin County Court Diversion & Community Justice Programs
e. $ 300.00 to North Country Animal League
f. $ 75.00 to Northern VT Resource Conservation & Development Council
g. $ 500.00 to VT Association For the Blind & Visually Impaired
h. $ 75.00 to Parent to Parent of Vermont
i. $ 4,436.00 to Franklin County Home Health Agency
j. $ 2,286.00 to Northwest Regional Planning Commission.
k. $ 1,000.00 to Northwest Unit for Special Investigations (NUSI)
l. $ 500.00 to The Family Center
m. $ 500.00 to Voices Against Violence
n. $ 2,700.00 to Northwestern Counseling & Support Services
o. $ 250.00 to Vermont Center for Independent Living
p. $ 2,000.00 to Northwest Vermont Public Trans. Network, Inc.
ARTICLE 9. To see if the voters will authorize the Selectboard to spend any unanticipated revenues (such as grants, gifts or interest on investments).
ARTICLE 10. To see if the voters of the Town of Enosburgh will collect it’s Real Estate taxes in two installments, i.e.: ˝ on or before September 10, 2008, if so desired; and ˝ on or before November 10, 2008.
ARTICLE 11. Shall the voters authorize tax payments to be accepted as paid when date-stamped
received by Enosburgh Town Treasurer.
ARTICLE 12. Will the Legal Voters vote a tax on the Grand List to cover the 2008 Town budget.
ARTICLE 13. To see if the voters will authorize the Selectboard to borrow what money as may be necessary in anticipation of taxes for 2008.
ARTICLE 14. To see if the voters will ratify the Charter Vote of January 12, 2008.
ARTICLE 15. To transact any other non-bind business thought proper when met.
